REAL ESTATE • First Mover

Precious nugget

With Gold Mine, Fairmount, and Martha Hills within its borders, a drive through Glen Park is a roller coaster ride leading to a cute central shopping district punctuated by an eponymous BART stop, giving what might otherwise feel like a remote, isolated area a cozy neighborhood feel. Residential gems are similar treats, with untouched Edwardians shouldered up against of-the-moment builds; 71 homes have sold here in the past year, with a median price of $1.86M, Compass reports. Here, three listings that provide a Glen Park snapshot:

→ 151 Moffitt St (Glen Park) • 3BR/2BA, 1345 SF house • Ask: $1.395M • 1951 build with tiered yard and sweeping view • Days on market: 13 • Agent: Eric Castongia, Corcoran Icon.

RESTAURANTS • First Word

Mission: Mediterranean

The Skinny: Newly open in the former Yellow Moto Pizzeria space at 18th and Valencia, Anatolian Table is the latest Mediterranean restaurant venture from Cypriot chef-owner Coskun Abik, who also owns Dunya on Polk Street and both Lark Bistro and Blind Butcher in the Castro.

The Vibe: The airy dining room retains the charms and inviting polished wood and green subway tile of the original buildout by the previous inhabitant, Flour + Water Pizzeria. The front bar has been converted to a wine bar, the kitchen remains open, and the tables are packed in, New York-style. Most nights, the place is bustling.

The Drink: The wine menu is concise by SF standards, with 10 options by the glass, including a Provencal rosé and a red Mavroudi from Greece. The dozen or so red bottles on the list include several uncommon-to-SF Turkish and Greek varietals. There are also a handful of Greek and Turkish beer options by the bottle.

The Food: Abik’s menu makes good use of the former pizzeria’s massive, multi-deck oven to produce glorious Turkish flatbreads, including a classic lahmacun topped with spiced minced beef and lamb; Yumurtali pide, the boat-shaped flatbread filled with kesseri and feta cheeses, za'atar, and herbs, and topped with egg; and Pastirma pide, topped with thin slices of Anatolian cured beef and kasseri cheese. The mezze combo platter is a classy presentation of nine mezzes, including some top-notch falafel and badimcan, a delicious, chunky Turkish eggplant dip with peppers and marash chile flakes.

The Verdict: Turkish fare isn’t the easiest to find in San Francisco, but Anatolian Table offers some of the city’s best. It’s a solid choice as a date night or just a weeknight graze-fest. –Jay Barmann

→ Anatolian Table (Mission) • 702 Valencia St • Mon-Fri 5p-10p, Sat-Sun 5p-11p • Walk-ins only.

WORK • Friday Routine

Active fellow

JAKE MILLER • founder • Fellow
Neighborhood you live in: Noe Valley

It’s Friday morning. What’s the scene?
My day typically starts with a workout at 7a at Purple Patch — it's a strong community of washed-up athletes. Meanwhile, my lazy dog is still in bed, and I struggle to get him out for his morning walk. Every morning after our workout, we hang out for a bit at Dandelion Chocolate for coffee and granola.

What’s on the agenda for today?
This morning, I met with shareholders and had a call with board members for Fellow, my specialty coffee gear company. I spent two hours on design review for new products. We reviewed and made some final decisions on full models, prototypes, and renderings. Then, I met with teams across the organization to ensure that everyone’s working on the right things. I can share this now that it's available for pre-sale, but we've been working tirelessly on Espresso Series 1, our first-ever espresso machine and most ambitious product yet.

Any restaurant plans today, tonight, this weekend?
Dandelion Bloom Salon has a great seating area where you can just hang out. It feels very European. The Coffee Movement on Balboa in the Inner Richmond is awesome. Noe Valley Bakery — I'm more of a cookie guy than a full dinner guy. And I’ll walk down the street to Saru Sushi, a great little sushi bar.

Any weekend getaways?
We have a Fellow store located on Abbot Kinney, which is just a short flight away, so I love visiting Los Angeles and the Venice neighborhood where the store is. Also, I make it a point to make it to Big Sur quarterly for long weekends. When I want to keep it low-key, there is an incredible Zen center there that offers silent retreats.

What was your last great vacation?
I can't sit on a beach for long, so when I go to Hawaii, I like to stay at the Mauna Lani Hotel on the Big Island. On my last visit, I swam, biked, and ran every day — one day I biked for nine hours straight and then got to come back and relax by the pool. The poke from a random grocery store counter is always the best in Hawaii.

What’s a recent big-ticket purchase you love?
An Ooni pizza oven!

GETAWAYS • New Orleans

Crescent crawl

NO CITRONELLA NEEDED: A family-style, pre-paid, prix fixe deal in an inviting Victorian cottage, Mosquito Supper Club (above) is unique among New Orleans dining experiences. And while Chef Melissa Martin’s Cajun spot may feature dishes familiar to the New Orleans pantheon — crab claws with remoulade, oyster bisque, shellfish gumbo — each is treated with a skilled hand and presented with fine-dining finesse. Also a cookbook author, Martin is on hand most nights to greet diners and introduce her food.

→ Mosquito Supper Club (New Orleans) • 3824 Dryades St • Wed-Sun 530-930p • Reserve.

GULF OF FRANCE: When it first garnered national attention a decade ago, N7 had a handful of outdoor tables, a tiny dining room, and a menu centered on tinned fish and French wine. But in 2025, the restaurant named for the historic highway that ran from Paris to Cannes now has an expansive patio lit by string lights on which to relax on a warm night, and a much expanded menu featuring dishes straddling French and Japanese cuisines, like frog legs karaage and tempura cauliflower with camembert fondue. Chef Yuki Yamaguchi knows her way around bouillabaisse, too, and her coq au Riesling is a soulful wonder.

→ N7 (New Orleans) • 1117 Montegut St • Sun-Thu 5-9p, Fri-Sat 5-10p • Reserve.

UPTOWN MODERN: In-the-know locals and frequent visitors become regulars at chef Michael Stoltzfus’s Garden District gem Coquette. I learned about it from a friend who grew up in town and goes back often, and it has the kind of cozy vibe, terrific cocktails, and seasonally changing menu that make it one of the best upscale neighborhood spots in the country. Dishes like red snapper with charred leeks, hibiscus, and turnip bearnaise show off Stoltzfus’s talent for harmonious flavors, and his boudin-stuffed pork tenderloin with seasonal accompaniments is a modern ode to Cajun-French cooking. –Jay Barmann

→ Coquette (New Orleans) • 2800 Magazine St • Mon-Thu 530-9p, Fri-Sat 530-930p • Reserve.
