→ SIDEWALK SALE: The Outer Sunset’s Day Moon began as a farmers market bread brand, expanding its offerings to sweet and savory baked goods when it opened inside a former General Store location in 2023. Now it’s also an occasional night time scene, rolling out tables and packing its parklet during Instagram-announced pizza nights that send a line down the block.

Whole pies with toppings like summer corn and leeks are also available to go. Side salads like a well-dressed cucumber and greens give a cool counterpoint. 3928 Irving St (Outer Sunset), walk-ins only.

→ COOKIE MONSTER: Bay Area chain diner Gott’s Roadside has long been a reliable — albeit unexciting — option when at the Ferry Building, but a new effort is worth seeking out. In a corridor near the restaurant’s flagship, the business has recently opened a one-off cookie counter, baking chocolate chip, rainbow sprinkle, ginger snap, and peanut butter varieties daily. Served warm enough that the centers are gooey and accompanied by Babygirl-like glasses of milk — whole is the correct choice; chocolate or strawberry are also on offer — it’s more of a treat than you might reasonably expect.
